Mixed colour crocus are one of the earliest and most cheerful of all spring flowering bulbs. Crocus bulbs not only provide winter garden color, but they naturalize, meaning they spread and come back year after year, with minimum care and for an ever-larger display. As a bonus, deer, squirrels and rabbits rarely bother early little crocus bulbs.

Where to Plant

Choose an area where there is well-drained soil; bulbs will rot in soggy, compacted ground. Crocus bulbs can be planted almost anywhere, but avoid dense shade.

How to Plant

Plant 5-10cm deep and 5-10cm or more apart with the pointy end up.

Plant bulbs in groups of 10 or more or clusters rather than spacing them in a single line. Single flowers get lost in the landscape. Fill containers, if using, with good quality, well-drained soil. Water after planting to gently soak the soil and settle it around the bulbs.

How to Grow

Stagger the planting over a few weeks as this will result in the blooms opening up over a longer period in the spring.

Our bulbs are thoroughly tested to the highest standards by our wholesaler who carries the Royal Warrant.
